Alex Scott, 36, has issued a witty response after a fan pointed the blame at her and Micah Richards after Gary Lineker fumed “someone’s taking the p***” after spotting his snack selection that had been left for him in his dressing room. The former professional footballer has been working with Walkers for over 26 years.
As a result, he was less than impressed when he found crisps belonging to rival brand McCoy’s in his dressing room.
He wrote in view of his 7.9 million Twitter followers last week: “Someone’s taking the p*** with this lot in my dressing room. Think I’ll pass.”
Gary was inundated with responses about the funny tweet, with one fan suggesting he had been pranked by the new BBC Sport presenting duo.
They penned: “Bet it was @MicahRichards and @AlexScott (New kids on the block).”
Alex spotted the tweet and shared a funny GIF showing a woman looking confused and saying, “Who? Me?”
She also added two crying with laughter emojis alongside the GIF, giggling over the Twitter user’s comment.
Lineker has been a part of the Walkers brand for 26 years, and in October signed a contract extending his services until 2023.
As part of the contract, the ex-footballer reportedly bagged a huge £1.2 million.
The new deal will see him in fewer adverts as he takes on an ambassadorial role, according to Fernando Kahane, Walkers’ senior marketing director.
Meanwhile, Alex recently took to Twitter to speak out on her presenting partnership with Micah as pundits for the Euro 2020 tournament.
Alongside a stunning selfie, the Football Focus host penned in view of her 323,000 followers: “Seeing all the love on Twitter today hasn’t gone unnoticed… thank you!
“Big smiles and getting ready to watch the next game and hope my partner in crime this Euros @MicahRichards doesn’t miss me too much.

Alex previously caused a stir on social media due to an exchange with rapper Wretch 32, 36, who left a love heart emoji on her post.
The star was all smiles for the camera in pictures she shared from a photo shoot.
The former Arsenal player captioned the post: “Let your smile change the world, but don’t let the world change your smile.”
Alex responded to Wretch 32’s comment with a smiling face with three hearts emoji on Instagram.
The pair’s friendly exchange was picked up on by some of her 440,000 followers.
One commented: “@alexscott2 Alex n Wretch, sitting in a tree.”
A second added: “@officialwretch32 get in there fam.”
Alex is believed to be single and there is no sign of the rapper being in a relationship.
