It’s no secret that fans want to see the Frozen character Elsa have a girlfriend and the cast is reacting to the idea.
While some of the stars are totally into the idea of Elsa having a girlfriend, there are others who don’t think she needs to be in a relationship at all.
Elsa wasn’t given a male love interest in either the first movie or the sequel.
See what the cast members are saying below, via Variety:
Kristen Bell (Anna): “I realize that and that’s up to Elsa.”
Idina Menzel (Elsa): “Elsa doesn’t focus on romantic love. That’s what we love about the entire franchise, is that’s not what’s important. The love that we focus on is self love and our love between the two sisters.”

Martha Plimpton (Yelana): “Yeah, I hope she does. If she wants.”
Evan Rachel Wood (Iduna): “I mean, I’m standing right here. Though, I am her mother in this movie so I don’t think that’s going to happen. But, I think eventually yes.”
Jonathan Groff (Kristoff): “I love that Elsa, unlike any other princess, is not defined by any kind of romantic relationship – that she’s just an independent woman.”
Lyricist Kristen Anderson-Lopez: “Elsa doesn’t define herself by a romantic relationship, as I do not try to define myself by a romantic relationship. She’s just figuring out why she has these powers and where she belongs and she’s got the weight of the kingdom on her shoulders.”
