Halsey says that she felt “defeated” after her inspirational speech at 2018 Women’s March in New York.
“There were 2,000 people in front of me, and no one was listening or paying attention,” Halsey said about the response to her speech discussing her own experiences of sexual violence and taking a rape victim to an abortion clinic.

I’m sitting at home reading about thousands of women’s experiences, which of course I’m absorbing, little empath girl. And that speech is still getting a response,” Halsey said.
