Holly Willoughby, 40, has broken her silence after missing presenting This Morning yesterday. The TV personality unexpectedly missed filming yesterday, with Josie Gibson filling in for the star.
I’m in no threat of vomiting on @schofe.
Holly posted on Instagram this morning to tell her fans why she missed yesterday’s show.
In view of her 7.4 million followers Holly posted a picture of Josie Gibson with a crown emoji on her head, praising Josie for filling in for her at the last minute.
She penned: “Thank you @josiegibson85 for saving the day yesterday… I’ll be back as soon as I’m in no threat of vomiting on @schofe.”
Philip Schofield and Holly have been regular presenters on This Morning for a number of years.
But as viewers tuned in yesterday morning, many were shocked to see Josie in Holly’s place.
Opening yesterday’s show, Philip explained Josie was on her way to Surrey for another part of the show when she was quickly diverted back to the studios.
Philip said: “An hour ago you were on your way to do our live shows in Surrey.”
Josie replied: “Yep, one minute of TV, over.
“Then I had a phone call.”
Telling viewers why Holly was missing, Philip said: “Holly is not here today because she’s got a tummy bug – nothing more than that.
“She’ll probably be back tomorrow but you [Josie] were parachuted in.”
Josie, shocked by the call, said: “I couldn’t believe it.
“I thought they had the wrong number, Phil.”
Fans of the morning show took to Twitter to express their view on Holly’s replacement.
Byrne_abi said: “@Josiestweet absolute natural on #ThisMorning.
“Felt so relaxed watching you.
“You were warm, funny, capable and seemed generally happy to be there.”
Lilacrose109 added: “Josie was great on #ThisMorning today!
“Wouldn’t have guessed it was her first time. I think the show works better when they mic the presenters around!”
