Jake Quickenden shows off dramatic 3 stone body transformation after ‘gruelling regime’

I'm A Celebrity runner-up Jake Quickenden has shown off his dramatic three stone weight loss transformation after a 'gruelling training regime' ahead of his MMA cage fight at the weekend.

The former Hollyoaks star will be taking on comedian Paul Smith in Manchester on Saturday, following an intense 10-month training regime.

Jake took to the scales in a pair of leopard-print underpants to show off his lean physique as he weighed in at 76.9kg ahead of his MMA debut.

The Dancing on Ice star has lost a total of 20kg in total, revealing the drastic change has been a 'mental challenge,' as he ate 'no carbs' and 'dehydrated himself' to make weight.

Jake, who is a dad to one-year-old Leo with wife Sophie Church, opened up on the demands of balancing his duties as a father with training 'twice a day' for his fight against Paul.

He told Oktagon MMA: "Making the weight has been the mental challenge for me because I do love my food. I've been off the booze for over a year, and I've changed my diet quite a lot."

He added: "I used to eat a lot of rubbish, and I haven't been. I can't wait for it to be over so I can have a kebab and maybe a beer. It's made me mentally stronger; it's been tough, I've been grumpy, tired, and hungry, but I've kept a strong mind throughout."

The 35 year old who is currently starring in the stage production of The Full Monty, said it's been even more challenging preparing for the fight while also being on tour.

He added: "It's been a challenge for me and for Paul. We are working full-time jobs. I'm on tour at the moment.

"Parenting isn't easy when you're hungry, and you're training twice a day. It's been a really good process, but it shows anyone can do anything if they put their mind to it.

"You can really achieve stuff if you put your mind to it. I've achieved a lot. I've stuck to it and I've dedicated myself. I haven't missed a day of training.

"There was never a point where I wouldn't make the weight. I know my mindset and had a great team around me. When you dedicate yourself to something, you have to follow through with it. I made it, and now I'm off to have a burger!"

OKTAGON 48 comes to Manchester on Saturday night, with fans promised an action-packed night of MMA.
