James Charles thanks PewDiePie for his support amid Tati Westbrook's allegations

James Charles has thanked fellow YouTuber PewDiePie for his support amid the ongoing controversy caused by Tati Westbrook’s video allegations.

‘Thank you Felix for both of the videos that you made about the situation,’ shared James.

‘Meant a lot that you saw what was going on, and the advice in your second video was incredibly helpful and appreciated. love you.’

Following Tati’s 45-minute take-down of the YouTube makeup artist, in which she accused Charles of trying to ‘manipulate people’s sexuality’, James shared an eight-minute apology video and days later on 18 May posted a 41-minute video in which he revealed that he has considered suicide.

‘Everything that happened really really hurt, and I wouldn’t wish what happened on my worst enemy,’ he said.

‘The last few weeks of my life have been the most painful time I have ever had to deal with, and my head and brain for a hot minute went to a place so dark I didn’t think I would come back, and that… I can’t believe I just admitted that on camera.

‘People always say being a social media influencer is an easy job… but I don’t think any human being ever is prepared to deal with the pain and anxiety of what it feels like for millions of people to be talking to you at one time.’

He later tweeted: ‘I made my video today NOT to start a war, but to take responsibility for my actions & clear my name. There ARE two sides to every story, & now you’ve heard both.

‘I’m sure more will be said, but I’m moving on. You can form your opinions, but PLEASE do not send any hate to anyone.’

James, 19, has seen the drop of 2.2 million (and counting) YouTube subscribers since his former BFF/Sister Squad member Tati systematically took him down on her channel.

Just three days after Tati uploaded her ‘BYESISTER’ video, James’ followers on Instagram and Twitter are dropping like flies, with even his celebrity friends – Kylie Jenner, Kim Kardashian, Katy Perry et al – aborting mission on their friendship.
