Singer-songwriter and television personality Kelly Clarkson has revealed the one song that she is afraid to cover.
The 38-year-old, who rose to fame by performing cover songs on the first-ever season of “American Idol” and continues to put out covers of her favorites on “The Kelly Clarkson Show” in a segment known as “Kellyoke,” surprised fans by admitting that there is one song that she will likely never cover.
Having brought in Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi to be an advisor to the contestants on the show “The Voice,” on which she is one of the coaches, Clarkson confessed to the singer that she is too afraid to cover his 2019 hit song, “Despactio.”
“I have practiced so hard, because I love singing in Spanish as well, or just in different languages,” she said. “And it’s, like, the biggest song of all time. You’re kind of like, ‘You know what? I’m gonna leave that alone,'” to which Fonsi naturally responded with “Oh, come on, you have to cover it now!”
