Kim Kardashian entirely ignores Met Gala theme but slays in 'dripping' latex

She finished the super-sexy look with clear heels, wet look hair and glowy bronze make-up for a truly show-stopping number.

Mugler hasn’t designed anything for 20 years, so for him to whip up the beaded latex dress for Kim is no joke.

The mum-of-three, who is expecting her fourth child via surrogate any day now, told Vogue: ‘This is the first time in 20 years Mr. Mugler has designed for the House of Mugler. So to come and design this gown for me is such an honour.

‘This is about eight months in the making … He envisioned me this California girl stepping out of the ocean, wet, dripping.’

Mission accomplished.

Kim, who has worn vintage Mugler quite a lot of late, suggested Sophia Loren in Boy On A Dolphin was her inspo, as she shared pictures of the actress to her Instagram story before the Met Gala.

While Kim at least served a *lewk*, regardless of sticking to the theme, we can’t say the same for her husband Kanye West.

The 41-year-old didn’t even fall into the achingly dull black tux brigade (we see you, Shawn Mendes), choosing to wear black trousers and a zip-up jacket.

Not even some Yeezy slides? C’mon, Kanye.

The rest of the Kardashian girls did pull out all the stops, though, as mama Kris Jenner wore a platinum bobbed wig to pair with her navy blue jumpsuit – it was all very Mamma Mia!, and Kris is camp AF, so we’re into it.

Meanwhile, Kylie, 21, was feeling her dress-up fantasy in a lilac gown featuring plumes of purple feathers, teamed with a matching wig.

And Kendall, 23, chose to wear orange feathers for a very over-the-top, carnival inspired look.

For two girls who usually entirely ignore the theme to wear figure-hugging Balmain, we’re giving Kylie and Kendall most improved

The Met Gala, as always, was held at the Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art, and was hosted by Harry Styles, who was serving Pat Butcher realness, Serena Williams, who wore trainers with her gown, and Lady Gaga, who had multiple costume changes on the pink carpet.
