Madonna is paying tribute to her Evita director Alan Parker.
The 61-year-old entertainer took to Instagram on Friday (July 31) to remember the director after it was announced that he had died at 76.
“I was so sad to hear about the passing of Alan Parker,” Madonna wrote along with a few photos of she and Alan. “One of the greatest directors I’ve ever worked with—on the film Evita. He taught me so much, believed in me, pushed me to my limits and made an incredible film! Thank you! 📽♥️ #alanparker #evita”
Evita was released in 1996, starring Madonna and Antonio Banderas. At the Golden Globes, Madonna won Best Actress – Motion Picture Musical or Comedy while the movie won Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy and Best Original Song for “You Must Love Me.” Alan was nominated for Best Director.
