Madonna has released “I Rise,” the second single from her upcoming album.
The Queen of pop is set to release Madame X, her 14th studio album, on June 14.
On Thursday, Madonna made the debut performance of the first single from the album, titled “Medellín,” at the Billboard Music Awards.
Madonna said in a statement that she wrote “I Rise” as a way of giving a voice to all marginalized people who feel they don’t have the opportunity to speak their mind.
“This year is the 50th anniversary of Pride and I hope this song encourages all individuals to be who they are, to speak their minds and to love themselves,” she added.
Madonna was honored with the Advocate for Change Award at the 30th annual GLAAD Media Awards in New York City on Saturday.
