Michelle Williams attended the Kentucky Derby with ex-fiancé Chad Johnson over the weekend.
The former Destiny’s Child singer was spotted at the race with Johnson, prompting speculation that the former couple may have reconciled nearly five months after calling off their engagement.
“I see the homies to your left. @chadjohnson77 @michellewilliams Looking good y’all!” commented one follower on an Instagram photo of them.
We’re told Williams, 38, and Johnson were VIP guests of the Bridgeman family, attending their annual Trifecta Gala on Friday night and the race Saturday.
R&B singer Amerie shared footage of Johnson and Williams from the gala, where they appeared to be smiling and laughing the night away. Also sitting at their VIP table were Jeff Bezos and Nene Leakes.
Although it’s unclear whether Williams and Johnson are engaged again, a source told us they are romantically involved.
“They are trying to work on things,” the insider said, noting that Williams wasn’t wearing her engagement ring. “They definitely came together.”
Williams had said in December in an Instagram story, “I guess I still remain single! Thing didn’t work out.”
She also wished Johnson well, saying, “healing … needs to take place.”
“I don’t wanna destroy another relationship. Blessings to him, his family and ministry. #FEARLESS.”
Johnson and Williams announced their engagement in April 2018 after he had secretly proposed in March. Over the summer, Williams checked herself into a mental health facility to help treat her depression.
The split was documented on their OWN reality series, “Chad Loves Michelle,” but she later admitted on social media she regretted getting into reality TV.
“I will admit, I truly made the mistake of opening up and showing the world parts of me that have been private for 20 years,” she shared. “At the same time I know there are people that have been inspired by what I’ve shared BUT maaaan it sure takes a lot to sift through and horrible things people say.”
