Orlando Bloom stuns St. Patrick’s revellers with surprise Windsor pub performance

St. Patrick’s Day revellers in Windsor were left asking themselves an unexpected question on Friday night – have I had one Guinness too many, or is that Orlando Bloom performing in my local pub?

Their eyes weren’t deceiving them though as the Hollywood star really had taken to stage to belt out tunes alongside a live band.

Celebrations at The Alma Public House included Irish dancing and a performance from band Juice of The Barley who found themselves with a new lead singer.

In video footage obtained by OK!, 46 year old Orlando – arguably most famous for starring as Legolas in Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings trilogy – can be seen belting out Irish folk song She Moves Through The Fair.

The star wore a low-key ensemble, with a sports jacket and a baseball cap pulled down low as he took to the stage, much to the delight of pub-goers.

Chris Stark, the co-host of Capital’s award-winning breakfast show with Roman Kemp, was among those cheering the Hollywood actor on.

He exclusively told OK!: “It was a crazy moment, I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. Nobody believed it was him at first.”

“A legless Legolas was the last thing I expected on St. Patrick’s day,” Chris quipped. “I actually thought he was actually really good… but it might have been the Guinness.”

Orlando’s performance sparked a rapturous reaction from the crowd who demanded another track while the band labelled him “a top man”.

The Alma’s owner told us: “We’re lucky enough to operate Windsor’s Number 1 Pub. We’ve had such a great St Patrick’s Day.”

They also described Orlando and Chris as “so lovely,” adding: “They made the night for all of our guests!”

Orlando was born in Kent but now resides in California – where neighbours include Prince Harry and Meghan Markle – with his fiancée, pop superstar Katy Perry, and their daughter Daisy, two.

He is also a dad to son Flynn, 12, who he happily co-parents with ex Miranda Kerr.

It’s unclear if Orlando is back in the UK for filming. He recently wrapped filming on Gran Turismo, a film based on the game of the same name, and will soon produce and star in a psychological thriller, The Cut.

He’ll also be back on our screens in series two of the hit Amazon Prime series Carnival Row.

Orlando wasn’t the only celebrity to throw themselves into St. Patrick’s Day celebrations while in the UK as Kim Kardashian also enjoyed pints and baby Guinness shots at a pub in London.

Meanwhile, Paris Fury dressed her kids up in cute outfits for the occasion and Kate Middleton spent the day with the Irish Guards.
