Paulina Porizkova details ‘hollow’ feeling of attending sons’ graduations without their dad Ric Ocasek

Paulina Porizkova knows her late ex-husband Ric Ocasek would be “so incredibly proud” of their sons graduating this spring “after having the worst year and a half of their lives.”

The model, 56, celebrated sons, Jonathan, 27, and Oliver, 23, graduating “on time with honors” this year after losing their father in September of 2019. Singer Ric Osasek died at age 75.

“Together, we’ve raised some outstanding human beings,” she wrote in an Instagram post Sunday, dubbing herself a “proud mama.”

Porizkova added: “This weekend, I want to send out well-wishes and congratulations to everyone whose children are taking a big step into adulthood. But my heart goes out to all of us who are attending such momentous occasions as graduations – with someone crucial missing. Their absence in these joyous occasions is probably even more keenly felt. They SHOULD be here. There is such a painfully felt hollow where they belong.”

With COVID-19 vaccination rates on the rise and cases and deaths decreasing, many graduation ceremonies have resumed in-person after moving to virtual events last year.
