Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield have been left in complete hysterics after attempting to sing a Christmas carol together.

The This Morning presenters were seen looking festive in a short promotional video for the upcoming season of Dancing On Ice, which returns to our screens on 17 January.

Holly, 39, wore a gorgeous white gown with gold tinsel draped around her shoulders as well as reindeer ears on her head. Phillip, 58, looked equally as smart as he donned a black suit and tie with gold tinsel and gold reindeer ears, too.

The hilarious video started with the pair bursting into laughter before they composed themselves as Holly said: "Is it that time of year again?"

Phillip, who recently shared his heartbreak as his "wonderful" former colleague died, replied: "It's funny isn't it? How quickly it comes around. It's time to murder another carol."

Blonde beauty Holly objected to his description of their annual tradition before announcing that she's been practising her singing throughout the year specifically for this moment.

Before they could get started on their Christmas carol, Phillip's phone started going off in the background, causing them to go back into fits of laughter.

"Actually that's my phone, that's my Ring Doorbell. Yeah, someone's at the door. Santa's arrived!" he said.

Phillip then moaned about which key Holly would be leading with so he can follow along with her, before she said: "You know, I'm not a West End star like you but I just naturally can pull those notes out of the bag."

The pair then sang Ding Dong Merrily on High and as they got to the high note of Gloria, they couldn't help but collapse as they broke down into laughter.

"Oh it's so bad! Who am I trying to kid?" Holly exclaimed as Phillip agreed: "It was so sh*t!"

He added: "It's the worst we've ever done in all the years we've been doing it."

Holly, whose sister Kelly recently shared her heartache over being separated at Christmas from her for the first time, shared the clip on her instagram feed.

In the caption, she wrote: "All together now… @dancingonice will be back on your screens before you know it! … I’ll keep practicing my singing between now and then…" alongside two laughing emojis.
