Playboi Carti Scores First No. 1 On Billboard 200 With ‘Whole Lotta Red’

Playboi Carti has earned his first No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart after his Christmas release Whole Lotta Red debuted atop the chart.

Whole Lotta Red, the rapper’s second studio album, earned 100,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in the week ending December 31, 2020, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.

SEA units comprise 90,000, which equals 126.43 million on-demand streams of the album’s songs, and album sales comprise 10,000.

The 24-track Whole Lotta Red features Future, Kid Cudi and Kanye West, who also executive-produced the album. To date, the album has sold 1.1 million equivalent album units, plus 1.67 billion on-demand streams for its tracks.

Meanwhile, Taylor Swift‘s Evermore slipped to No. 2 after two weeks at No. 1 on the chart, with 71,000 equivalent album units earned.
