Strictly in chaos as Jody Cundy is forced to miss show rehearsals

Jody Cundy’s future on Strictly Come Dancing is up in the air as he suffered infection.

The Paralympian has sent the show into chaos leaving fans wondering if he will be forced to pull out ahead of the live shows this weekend.

The star, 44, admitted on the spin-off BBC show It Takes Two that he missed some of his rehearsals after being struck with the illness.

On Thursday night, he appeared with his partner Jowita Przystal to speak about how their new routine is coming along.

However, Jody confessed their rehearsals have come to a stop since he became unwell.

Taking to Instagram tonight, the show contestant admitted he is hopeful that he will be able to return to the dancefloor.

Taking to his stories the amateur dancer penned: “You may have seen on It Takes Two, that I’ve picked up a minor niggle this week, that’s meant I’ve missed a few days training.

“Everything seems to be settling down and I hope to be back on the @bbcstrictly dance floor this Saturday evening.”

His dance partner also took to the picture-sharing and shared her hopes to be back on the BBC show.

She penned: “Thank you so much for all your lovely messages and support. Staying positive is the key and we really hope we can perform for you guys this routine cause it means a lot to us sending lots of love! Team wheels & heels.”

Speaking on It Takes Two, Jody revealed when he woke up in the morning he came to learn that he had developed an infection which forced him to miss rehearsals.

Despite being prescribed antibiotics, his leg continued to swell leaving him unable to put his prosthetic back on.

He continued: “I got myself to the hospital and went to see the doctors there. They’ve prescribed me some antibiotics and by the time morning came around I couldn’t get my leg on.”

Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One on Saturday at 6.20pm.
