Kristen Doute has a new project.
The “Vanderpump Rules” star is set to release her first book, “He’s Making You Crazy” in June and told Page Six at BravoCon that it’s like her “new baby.”
“It’s like a very facetious outlook,” she explained. “Basically, it starts from like, every dating experience that I’ve gone through since I was a little kid up until the current moment. It’s like a universal dating survival guide. So it’s like you’ve either been through these stories or your friends have gone through these stories. So I’m really excited for everyone to read it. My partner, Michele Alexander, wrote ‘How To 10 a Guy in Ten Days,’ so I couldn’t have a better partner. We don’t have a ghostwriter. We’re doing this our own. And, you know, hopefully, one day it adapts to a television show.”
Alexander’s dating guide from 1998, “How to Lose A Guy in 10 Days” turned into a cult-favorite romantic comedy starring Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson. It was released in 2003.
But it’s unclear how much Doute, 36, has written regarding her history with her on-again-off-again boyfriend, Brian Carter. The couple split for good in September. They first met on the dating app Bumble in 2016 and their relationship fall out will play out on the upcoming season of “Vanderpump Rules,” premiering January 7 at 9 p.m. on Bravo.
Doute isn’t seeing anyone new just yet, with her joking with us: “I’m single. I’m just single. I’m just single and alone. No, I’m just I’m single.”
“I’ve dated a little bit here and there. I’m still best friends with Carter. He’s amazing. It had nothing to do with, you know, us not loving or respecting each other. It just sometimes things don’t work. And I think that’s why it dragged out for so long and why it was so hard for both of us. But he’s one of my absolute best friends in the entire world and it’ll never change. I am ready to mingle!”
“He’s Making You Crazy: How to Get the Guy, Get Even, and Get Over It” is available for pre-order now and is expected to be released on June 2.
