Good Morning Britain presenter Kate Garraway, 54, can be heard gasping in shock after witnessing her son Billy being thrown from a horse he was riding. The star took to Instagram to share a video of the terrifying moment after discussing 11-year-old Billy’s accident with her co-host Ben Shephard on GMB yesterday.

In the clip, Billy, who she shares with husband Derek Draper, can be seen learning how to canter on the horse during riding lessons.

Unfortunately, the horse suddenly began to suffer from a bout of bad wind, which led the animal to buck, causing Billy to tumble to the ground.

After Billy’s fall, the mum-of-two dropped the camera she was using to film her son’s lesson before rushing to check on him.

She exclaimed in shock: “Oh! Okay, okay!”

Kate took to the caption of the video to share further details on what had happened to Billy.

She wrote in view of her one million followers: “Darcey & Billy are are glued to our brilliant competitors in the @olympics equine events.

“Not least because as @benshephardofficial & I were saying yesterday on @gmb you just never know what’s going to happen next.

“This was Billy’s first attempt at a canter & poor Banjo’s wind meant he came a cropper (listen with sound up & you can actually hear it!).

“Better out than in ! or maybe better on than off!!?! !”

Kate was quick to reassure her fans that Billy wasn’t hurt after his fall from the horse.

She added: “Billy is fine by the way and he & Banjo still firm friends !! xxxx.”

Fans took to the comments section of Kate’s post to share their thoughts on the video.

The star first addressed the shocking incident on GMB yesterday following an interview with Team GB’s most decorated female Olympian, equestrian Charlotte Dujardin.

Kate revealed: “Billy got thrown from a horse because the horse had really quite bad wind.”

Ben was stunned by Kate’s story, as he gasped: “What!”

“Really bad, I’ve actually got it on film, I’ll find it if you like,” Kate replied.

Still struggling to comprehend the accident, Ben exclaimed: “Billy got thrown off the horse because the horse had bad wind?”

Kate responded: “He had a bit of windy pops. You can actually hear it on the video.

“He’s fine, everyone’s fine. The horse stopped and turned around – Smokey, the horse was – and looked at him as if to say ‘I’m so sorry’. Always Billy, poor old Billy.”
