Meghan Markle went for a minimalist look as she appeared on the video call yesterday. The royal joined Prince Harry as they were interviewed by education activist Malala.

The couple spoke to Malala to mark International Day of the Girl, which is marked annually on October 11.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex discussed the barriers stopping girls from going to school.

They also spoke about the importance for all girls to have the right to education.

During the appearance, Meghan was asked how education had played a part in her life.

She replied: “We believe when young girls have access to education everyone wins and everyone succeeds.

“It just opens the door for societal success at the highest level.

“I’m very grateful that, not only did I have the ability to go to school at a young age but also to continue to university.”

The couple appeared via video link from their home in Santa Barbara, California.

They were spotted sitting in the living room of their £11million property.

Meghan opted for a transitional look by wearing a simple black and white ensemble.

The mother-of-one wore a sleeveless knitted black roll neck top from Tuxe.

The recycled bodysuit was first spotted on the royal at an event for her cookbook at Hubb Community Kitchens in 2018.

She tucked the look into a pair of wide leg high-waisted white trousers that were held up by a brown leather belt.

While the royal picked a simple outfit, she dressed up the look with some lavish jewellery pieces.

Meghan wore the Cartier ‘Love’ bracelet in yellow gold, costing £3,500, which she has worn on many occasions over the years.

The royal matched the jewel with her recycled Cartier two tone ‘tank française’ watch, which costs £4,555.

To finish the look, the Duchess of Sussex wore a small pair of silver stud earrings.

Meghan pulled her long hair off her face and styled into a sleek low bun.

She went for a glam make-up look with lashings of mascara and a berry lipstick.
