THE SKIES may have been grey today, but the outfits couldn’t be brighter as glamorous racegoers assembled at Chester Ladies Day.
The annual Boodles May Festival kicked off on Wednesday and will run until Saturday with Thursday giving women the chance to showcase their style prowess.
And with the weather far from desirable it seems that brollies were as essential as a hate on day two of the event.
But despite the downpour revellers remained in good spirits, showcasing an array of stunning ensembles this afternoon.
The fashion stakes were high as women arrived in glamorous outfits ready to place their bets on the horses.
Many chose to brave the bare leg in sky-high mini dresses and bare shoulders for the event today.
White appeared to be a popular choice among fashion fans, seen in the form of jumpsuits, dresses and jackets.
Determined not to let the weather put a dampener on their day, visitors could be seen huddling under umbrellas as they enjoyed a glass of Pimms – or a jug.
And for those who forgot to check the weather forecast, there was no choice but to shelter under a jacket to enjoy a day at the races.
As usual the women showcased an array of impressive millinery in the form of facinators, hats and headpieces.
The soggy ground proved to be treacherous terrain but that didn’t stop young ladies from slipping into their favourite heels.
Elsewhere, Gabriele Dirvanauskas argued that the Met Gala was a flasher festival of nipples & bums – not a show of fashion.
