Chef’s egg recipe stuns foodies who marvel at ‘rose-shaped’ omelette method

A chef has stunned cooking fans by showing off their culinary prowess with a video demonstration of an upgraded omelette.

The stunning recipe starts off like any other classic omelette but the Japanese chef then whips out some chopsticks to work magic on the eggs.

In the clip, TikTok user @omuraisupuro – a self-proclaimed "omelette pro" – cooks some beaten eggs in a frying pan.

When the eggs are starting to set but still wet on top, they insert a pair of chopsticks into the omelette and pull them towards the centre.

This makes a crease in the egg mixture.

When the chef gently twists the chopsticks around, the omelette begins to take on a rose shape that is described as "dress-like" by the creator.

The omelette is gently slid out the pan onto some fried rice, to make a popular dish known as "omurice" in Japan.

Foodies say their mouth was watering when they saw the finished result, with many claiming they longed to try it out for themselves.

The video was "liked" 420,000 times and received thousands of comments from fans.

One admirer wrote: "That is cooked perfectly."

"That is actually perfect ask Gordon hahaha," quipped a second, seeming to reference Gordon Ramsay who is famously picky about omelettes.

"Omurice is so delicious and this looks sooo good," gushed a third viewer.

Someone else called the dish "rose egg" and another said, "this looks like gold."
