There always seems to be a new skin movement happening on social media. And we are here for it. The trends tend to emerge from skincare-obsessed southeast Asia, and the latest – crystal skin – is no different.

Originating from Korea, home of the ten-step skincare routine, this is all about creating a flawless, hydrated complexion with luminous sheen.

According to Tiff Salmon – skincare whizz and founder of Scientia Beauty – it’s all about recreating a “post-facial glow”. Basically, it’s your skin living its best life. What’s more, Tiff believes you can skip the salon and achieve it yourself, too!

“With the right tools and ingredient understanding you can create this look at home,” explains Tiff.

“My main advice for getting glossy, hydrated ‘crystal skin’ is to nail down your routine and then stick to it. Consistency is key!”

We hear you Tiff. And we are all about the routine here at OK!. Not a day goes by without us following our multiple step skincare regime – double cleanse, facial oil, serum, eye cream, moisturiser, SPF, FYI.

Not sure where to start? We don’t want to brag, but that’s why this month’s OK! Beauty Box of skincare heroes is a no-brainer. It contains a host of glowy skin must-haves worth £80 and costing just £7.50* here – and one of them is a facial oil, which is the key to Tiff’s guide to perfecting this luminous glow.

Like most skin experts, Tiff believes starting the day with a facial massage will not only invigorate your senses, it will also banish puffiness, stimulate blood flow and give a crystal-esque glow.

Tiff recommends using a facial roller, as this will help you apply enough pressure to get the most out of the massage. One of our favourites is the Revlon Jade Stone Facial Roller, £14.99 here.

Add a few drops of facial oil – like MonuSkin Fiji Firming Facial Oil, usually £26.95 but included in this month’s £7.50* OK! Beauty Box – to the skin first to allow you to really get deep into the massage.

“Use a roller to firmly but gently roll up from your chin towards the ear, using more pressure on the upward motion,” explains Tiff.

“Repeating across the entire side of your face, focus on your facial contours to really stimulate blood flow and reduce morning puffiness.”

Then it's about incorporating the right ingredients to really benefit your skin. “Make sure your routine combines a good blend of resurfacing and regenerating actives like AHAs and retinols,” explains Tiff.

“As well as ingredients that are going to replenish and nourish the skin, look for hydrating masks, moisture barrier-building ceramides and balancing oils for a rounded routine that gives your skin everything it needs without overwhelming it.”

Murad Intense Recovery Cream, £68 here, ticks all the replenishing and nourishing boxes – check out the luxe sample size included in this month’s OK! Beauty Box so you can try before you splash the cash.

It has shea butter and macadamia oil to nourish, micro algae extract to combat fine lines and boost radiance as well as Mirabilis Jalapa plant to reduce any redness and give that clear, healthy crystal glow.

And voila! Crystal skin is as simple as a six-step skincare routine, facial massage (including a tool) and a shed load of ingredients…
