Lauren Smart, from the UK, took to her TikTok page to showcase her device in action after picking it up for a bargain – admitting she expected it to function more like a ‘doll house’ appliance because it was so cheap.
However, the mother was pleasantly surprised when the appliance produced spicy, crispy new potatoes in just 40 minutes.
She wrote: ‘The £10 air fryer from TikTok Shop. This is my first ever TikTok Shop purchase and I’m so impressed, I can’t believe this was £10, perfect for people who have low incomes.’
Lauren added in the clip: ‘So this is the viral air fryer which has been selling for £10. I ordered it thinking I’m going to get it and it’s going to be a toy air fryer for a doll’s house.

‘So I just prepped some spicy new potatoes to try out the air fryer for the first time. This is eight litres deep, it is so good.
Lauren filmed herself trying out the device for the first time and pressing the buttons to get the temperature and timer set up correctly.
She added: ‘Honestly, I could not believe this air fryer was £10, so this is me just trying to learn how to use it.
‘This would be perfect for someone just moving into a new place and they really haven’t got the money to get a cooker or anything, for £10 I’m literally still gobsmacked. ‘
Showing off the results, Lauren pulled out the basket to give her delicious crispy potatoes a shake.
She said: ‘These are so good, and so quick to make, I put it on for 210 degrees and I think I cooked them for about 40 minutes. They were all crispy and so, so good.’
