Kate and William’s US tour will ‘steal thunder’ from anxious Sussexes, say royal sources

After missing out on attending Glasgow’s COP26 on medical grounds, the Queen appeared in a video message for the climate conference, thanking Prince William and Prince Charles for advocating for environmental causes – but Harry wasn't mentioned!

Meghan and Harry have pledged to make their company Archewell net zero by 2030, but sources say Harry will "feel snubbed" at being overshadowed by his older brother.

And according to Royal sources, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are already planning their next big engagement that is set to boost their profile even further.

Speaking to New Idea, an insider revealed that the couple are set to tour the USA in coming months, a move that is reportedly making Harry and Meghan extremely nervous.

Her Majesty is reportedly lining up Kate and William as an insurance policy for the monarchy, so the US visit is set to ensure that the family remain popular overseas.

"William and Catherine know the next big market they have to take on is America," said the source.

"It’s been almost 10 years since their last major tour there, and even though it’s not in the Commonwealth, American tourists make up a lot of the visits to royal properties."

After Prince William announced that next year’s Earthshot Prize Awards will be held in the US, the tour will help the 39 year old raise awareness of the environmental prize since he has "a lot of shoulders to rub Stateside."

But having stepped down as working members of the Royal Family earlier this year to begin their new lives in Montecito, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are allegedly feeling anxious about the Cambridges’ potential tour.

Despite attempting to establish their careers away from the Palace, Meghan and Harry have been met with a great deal of criticism for using their connections to position themselves above most of their A-list peers.

Kate and William on the other hand have remained enormously popular among the public, making it easier for them to win over critics – something which hasn’t gone unnoticed by the Sussexes.

"They don’t want the Cambridges coming onto their turf and stealing their thunder.

"They’ve made a lot of noise about their own philanthropic endeavours, but nothing compares so far to the success of William’s new Earthshot initiative," added the source.

"William is the future king and he’ll easily win friends and influence people in America a lot easier than Harry and Meghan have done so far."

After the Queen’s recent hospital visit, William and Kate have stepped up to help Her Majesty, attending COP26 in Glasgow after the Queen was forced to rest on medical grounds.

Harry meanwhile scrapped plans to come to the UK to meet disabled military veterans at an Invictus Games training weekend despite being in panic mode over his grandmother’s health.
