Kate Ferdinand reveals body worries ahead of lockdown easing — here’s our styling tips if you’re feeling the same

It’s no surprise that many of us might be feeling a little apprehensive about what to wear when lockdown ends and June 21 comes around.

After living in leggings and cosy loungewear for the best part of a year, it’s safe to say we don’t think anyone has worn a non-elasticated waist for a while.

And one of our favourite stars Kate Ferdinand is no different, as she admits to feeling nervous about what to wear post-lockdown, after her body changed following the birth of her son Cree.

So we’ve provided you with some useful styling tips to help boost your body confidence, and give you a gentle nudge in the right direction if you’re feeling conscious…

Showing off her post-baby body, the 29 year old new mum shared a gorgeous snap of her modelling some of her favourite outfits, in a bid to settle her dressing fears.

Donning a black crop top, layered under a bold geometric jacket and matching trousers, Kate looked incredible.

Wearing a crop top can be daunting for many, so style it like Kate with a high waisted trouser and an oversized jacket to throw over for extra coverage.

Wrap dress

Dress, & Other Stories, £75 here

A wrap dress is often the perfect choice for most women as the waist helps to create a flattering hourglass shape.

Better yet you can wear these as your weight shifts up or down, and just add a chic camisole if the dress gapes at the bust.

High waist trousers

Trousers, ASOS, £69 here

High waisted trousers will accentuate your waist and give you a balanced silhouette. Whilst being ultimately comfortable and a flattering shape for most body types, especially if you’re an apple or pear shape.

Cropped jeans

Jeans, Wrangler, £90 here

Cropped style jeans or trousers are best suited if you’re small in height with shorter legs as these will show off the ankles, and really elongate your frame.

Shape-wear

Briefs, M&S, £10 pack of 2 here

One key tip is getting the right underwear. You need to make sure it fits properly so that your clothes sit well.

If you’re feeling conscious about hiding lumps and bumps, opt for shape-wear knickers that will smooth out any lines and give you ultimate body confidence.

Smock dress

Dress, River Island, £38 here

The smock dress is obviously comfortable but it’s also super easy to dress up or down.

With a voluminous shape and an effortlessly cool look, this dress is the perfect go to for new mums who are still carrying baby weight or for those who are wanting to keep to a loose fitting number.

Oversized blazer

Blazer, Monki, £40 here

An oversized blazer is a must have item that should be in every wardrobe. Perfect for this transitional weather.

Style over a summer strappy dress if you’re conscious about your arms as it’s a chic cover up alternative.
