Lindt launches two new chocolate spreads – and you can buy one of them now at Asda

POSH chocolate company Lindt is now selling two new chocolate spreads which are proving popular with shoppers.

The Swiss company, which is known for its truffles and high-end bars with fancy flavours, is now rivalling the likes of Nutella, Biscoff and Cadbury by bringing out its own spreads.

The spreads come in two flavours, dark chocolate and hazelnut, and can be used on top of your toast, pancakes or in cakes and desserts.

The new spread has come just a few months before Christmas, meaning that you can include in any recipes you want to make or give it as a gift to someone.

Asda is currently selling a 200g jar of the dark chocolate spread for £4.50 online but isn’t selling the hazelnut one currently.

We’ve contacted Asda to find out when they will be selling the hazelnut one and if the dark chocolate one is available in all stores.

For those who are watching their waistlines, Asda says the dark chocolate spread has 588 calories and 40 g of sugar per 100g grams.

This means that per 15g serving, there are 88 calories and 6g of sugar.

The hazelnut version, which is for sale on Lindt’s website for £5.99, has less calories and sugar in it, with 550 calories and 45g of sugar per 100g.

For the hazelnut version, there are 75 calories and 7g of sugar per serving.

Lindt’s hazelnut spread has proved popular with shoppers as it’s already sold out on its website.

But Asda still has the dark chocolate one in stock online.

The jar is a bit pricier than its rivals.

Nutella’s 200g jar is £1.70 at Asda, while a Biscoff 400g pot (they don’t sell 200g jars) is £2.28.

Nutella has 539 calories 56.3g of sugar per 100g, which means it’s 80 calories and 8.4g of sugar per serving.

Biscoff meanwhile has 584 calories and 36.8 of sugar per 100g, meaning it’s 88 calories and 5.5g of sugar per serving.

Several other stores have started bringing out their Christmas goods ahead of this year's festive season.

B&M is bringing back its Pringles advent calendar for Christmas 2020.

Sainsbury’s Christmas 2020 food has been revealed and includes a pigs in blankets stuffing wreath.

And M&S has a Percy Pig advent calendar, which is perfect for fans of the sweets.
