A mum-of-one was left blushing when workmen discovered an X-rated “antique” in her attic.
Raychel Bonney was called upstairs by the handymen, who pointed out a sex toy that had been “rotting” away up there.
So the 27-year-old personal assistant rushed down to tell her partner Matthew about the bonkers find.
The couple, who are based in St Helens, Merseyside, also told their neighbours about the builders’ discovery – and they blamed former randy tenants who reportedly enjoyed loud sex sessions.
Raychel said: "I was absolutely mortified. I discovered this 'antique' in the attic. It's hilarious – it could only happen to me.
"The toy is rotten – it looks like it's been there years. It's scaly and scabby at the bottom, like the plastic has burned."
The mum-of-one has lived in the house for a couple of years but had never ventured up to her loft until earlier this month, when she made the dirty discovery.
Racyhel said: "I've lived there for two years and never thought of going in the loft or anything.
"The CCTV man came and said he needed to put a socket in the attic.
"I just said 'you'll have to excuse whatever's in the loft because I've never been in'. I never even went into the attic at all.
"As he got up the ladders he said 'your last tenants have left you a little present – go up and have a look'.
"I looked forward and there it was in all its glory.
"He was laughing but I was so embarrassed – I didn't want him to think it was mine.”
Raychel admitted: "After the shock it was something I could laugh about.
"Matthew found it hilarious. He went bright red when I went down and told him.
"I'm leaving it there now – it can gather more dust."
After sharing the story with her neighbours, Raychel's landlord admitted his own daughter had also found a similar product in her own attic following a house move.
Raychel is pleased she’s been able to laugh at the situation.
She added: "I'm close with my other neighbours and it was something we could laugh at.
"They said a couple of years ago a couple that lived there were quite loud in the bedroom and they could hear it on the street when the windows were open. It's maybe from the people before us a couple of years ago.
"We had to convince the CCTV guy it wasn't mine. He joked he was going to the pub on Friday night and he was going to tell his friends about it.
"I've left it up there. I am not touching that. I told my landlord and said 'I hope this isn't yours' as a joke.
"He said 'funnily enough, my daughter's just moved into a house in the same area and the plumber found one in her loft as well.
"There must be something going on. It's a very adventurous area."
