Will I let my mum down when I start my new job and can't help out anymore?

DEAR DEIDRE: BEING offered a full-time job should be exciting but if I accept, will I be letting down the people I currently help?

I was made redundant from my job in hospitality at the start of the pandemic and have been unemployed ever since. I’m 33.

I joined a tennis club and volunteer at a soup kitchen.

But knowing I’ll disappoint them really gets to me.
