  • ROSS BARKLEY will push on and produce a standout season at Chelsea under Frank Lampard, according to Blues legend Karen Carney.

The 25-year-old has struggled to impress at Stamford Bridge since his £15m move from Everton last year but he has been one of the standout players in pre-season under new boss Lampard.

“I think this is his season,” former Chelsea Women winger Carney said, as reported by the BBC.

“I saw his confidence go under Maurizio Sarri last year. He was a 60-minute man and it is demoralising as a player knowing that when the clock hits 60 minutes you are going off.

“I think Frank will educate Ross to push on.”

  • HARRY REDKNAPP has warned his nephew Frank Lampard that he faces a “tough season” at Chelsea after the club lost its best player in Eden Hazard.

He told BetVictor: “It's going to be a tough season for Frank (Lampard). It's great to see him get the opportunity at Chelsea and I'm sure he'll do well in the long term, but they've lost their best player in Hazard.

“He's got a big job and it's going to be a tough year. If they make the top four, which I think they can finish fourth, it'll be a big achievement.”

  • CHELSEA loanee Victor Moses is having a torrid time on loan to Fenerbahce.

The Nigerian signed an 18-month loan deal with the Turkish strugglers in January after being frozen out at Stamford Bridge last season.

The 28-year-old ended the term with a measly four goals and Turkish sports daily Fanatik suggests he's about to be benched because of his poor performances in pre-season.

The 28-year-old had played a major role for Chelsea under previous manager Antonio Conte helping them to Premier League and FA Cup success, but was deemed surplus to requirements by Maurizio Sarri, and now seems unlikely to ever start for Frank Lampard.

  • CRISTIANO RONALDO has revealed that his iconic 'Sii' celebration was born against former Premier League rivals, Chelsea.

The Portuguese superstar is now renown for his trademark jump in the air and swivel move – accompanied by him shouting “Sii” – whenever he scores a goal.

The 34-year-old performed the unique celebration 21 times for Juventus in Serie A last season, but it was fans in America who first witnessed the pose.

Speaking to the YouTube channel Soccer.com, the five-time Ballon D'or winner revealed that he whipped out the now-classic move while playing for Real Madrid in a friendly against Chelsea.

“Well, I was in the US and we played against Chelsea and I don't know where it came from. I just scored and I went, 'sii!'” he recalled.

“But it was natural, to be honest.

“After that, I started doing it and I feel like the fans, when they see me they're like 'sii' and I was like, 'wow, people remember Cristiano because of the sii,' so I continued like that.”

  • NORWICH have entered the race to sign Chelsea outcast Danny Drinkwater, SunSport can reveal.

Brighton wanted the midfielder on a season-long loan deal, and it is now set to depend n who can pay the most out of Prem new-boys.

The 29-year-old did not play a single game for Blues last season after featuring in last season's Community Shield.

Chelsea preferably would sell the player as boss Frank Lampard wants to give more game time to youngsters Mason Mount and Ruben Loftus-Cheek in central midfield.
