    CHELSEA have been given a huge boost as France boss Didier Deschamps played down injury fears over N'Golo Kante.

    The World Cup-winning midfielder, 28, missed the Euro 2020 qualifier with Iceland after limping off in the pre-game warm-up and replaced in the starting XI by Moussa Sissoko.

    But Deschamps moved quickly to say it was purely a precaution with Blues chief Frank Lampard already in touch with the French boss to check on Kante's fitness.

    While Deschamps' update was positive, he refused to say whether Kante would be fit to play Turkey on Monday.

    The France boss revealed: “He felt a pain in the abductor muscle. He had a feeling where he did not feel comfortable to play.

    “I made the decision [to pull him from the squad], because maybe it could get even worse. I knew Moussa would be ready.”

  • ANDREAS CHRISTENSEN starts for Denmark as they take on Switzerland in Copenhagen.

    The Chelsea defender lines up alongside Atalanta's Simon Kjaer as the Danes look to overtake the Republic of Ireland at the top of Group D.
