THUNDER ROSA and Ivelisse's NWA Women's Championship match descended into a legitimate fight on AEW.
According to a report from Fightful Select, the two female wrestlers had tension backstage and decided to go after each other physically.
Thunder Rosa reportedly took exception to Ivelisse not selling that she was hurt during her offense to make her look weak.
One moment included the Puerto Rican getting caught on camera fixing her knee brace instead of acting pained when she was dumped out of the ring.
Another incident saw Ivelisse let her arms go limp as the champion attempted to lock in a submission.
Thunder Rosa, who already has a reputation for her stiff strikes, is said to be very proud of the NWA heritage and refused to make the company look bad on TV.
As a result, she began removing the need for Ivelisse to perform the leg-slap smoke-and-mirror aspect of professional wrestling by actually striking her.
Fightful claimed that “those in attendance thought that the match was going to have to be edited” yet it has not been confirmed whether it was.
Fans meanwhile loved the scrap, with one tweeting: "Great match between Ivelisse and Thunder Rosa. Two legit badass women just going all out."
Another said: "Thunder Rosa could drag a no selling Ivelisse to a decent match. If you want to know how good she is just watch that match."
A third added: "Really liked Thunder Rosa and Ivelisse. Some filthy strikes."
However, unlike the fans, AEW's backstage personnel were reportedly uncomfortable with how the match panned out.
Though many on the roster were said to have supported Rosa, who has been rumoured to be moving towards a leadership role following training with Dustin Rhodes.
The 34-year-old will face off against Ivelisse, 32, once again next week in a tag-team match with Hikaru Shida and Diamante.
