Arsenal star Bellerin shows off horror 'Frankenstein' knee scar after surgery

ARSENAL star Hector Bellerin has shared pictures of his horror knee scar as he continues on his road to recovery from a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament.

The Spaniard went down unchallenged during the second half of the Gunners' 2-0 victory over Chelsea last month and he has already had surgery to repair the problem.

Bellerin posted a number of pictures of him peeling off the bandage that has been covering the wound to unveil a three-inch scar running vertically along his knee.

Bellerin, who has been documenting his rehabilitation and recovery with a number of snaps, captioned the latest post: "So far so good. It's starting to look like a knee again."

The Arsenal defender ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament during last month's 2-0 win over Chelsea.

Bellerin went abroad for surgery, but fans were convinced he travelled back in time to the 1980s after he posted a peculiar picture.

But he confirmed the surgery was a success and he took the chance to thank the doctors and physios that had helped him.

One visitor to check up on him was Watford ace Gerard Deulofeu.

The crocked Arsenal defender and the Watford star have been friends since their time together at Barcelona's youth academy.

Alongside the image, he wrote: "@gerarddeeulofeu look what the cat dragged in."

The Arsenal star once revealed the pair used to live in the same area in Spain and would play five-a-side tournaments together.

And when Deulofeu joined Everton in 2015, Bellerin admitted he was really proud of his friend's progress.

Deulofeu posted the same picture to his Instagram page and he revealed he hopes for his recovery time to fly and that Bellerin will be "back soon".

Even though Bellerin was ruled out for up to nine months, Arsenal surprisingly named the defender in their Europa League squad for the knockout phases of the competition.
