Chelsea fans rejoice after BT Sport commentary goes down during Frankfurt clash

VIEWERS joked that they were relieved when BT Sport's commentary in Chelsea's Europa League clash failed in the second half.

After returning for the second half, the broadcasting giants suffered a technical hitch that saw them lose both commentator Steve Bower and co-commentator Nigel Spackman for 11 minutes.

Instead viewers could hear Robbie Savage commentating on the Arsenal match taking place on a different channel.

BT Sport then tried to improvise by letting Glenn Hoddle and Owen Hargreaves commentate who were sitting in the studio.

Following a live apology, the commentary finally came back on in the 56th minute of the Europa League contest.

But some fans wished it hadn't.

One wrote: BT Sport lost the commentary. Yippee!!! This is better."

Another said: "BT Sport appear to have been so bored by the Chelsea game, they are now playing the Arsenal commentary over it."

A third added: "The commentary was so much better for 10 minutes in the second half (ie none) because of the power cut in the gantry."

The commentary was so much better for 10 minutes in the second half @btsport @btsportfootball (ie none) because of the power cut in the gantry.

Hey @btsport you may have lost your commentary but that's no excuse to get the presenters and studio guests to take over. The atmosphere and ambience in that stadium is much more engaging! Now SHUT UP please! ? #FRACHE
