CONOR McGREGOR will knock out 'washed up' Dustin Poirier in the first round before leaving him in tears, Colby Covington said.
McGregor makes his long anticipated UFC return on January 23 and will do so in a lightweight headliner.
It comes seven years after the Irishman KO'd Poirier in round one down at featherweight.
But as the pair prepare to rematch, the American's ex-training partner has predicted the exact same result.
Covington told Submission Radio: “All I can say guys, is you guys make sure you got the Kleenex ready at the press conference.
"Because you know Dustin Sorrier is gonna break down on the mic, he’s gonna cry to the world, get everybody to feel sympathy and feel bad for him.
"He’s gonna get sparked again in the first round, because he’s completely washed up and has no chin any more and no heart.”
Covington, 32, used to train alongside Porier, 31, at Florida's American Top Team.
But after the outspoken, Donald Trump-loving welterweight turned UFC bad boy, he took aim at anyone in his way.
And that included Poirier and his former best friend Jorge Masvidal, 36, who Covington is in talks to fight.
But the former title challenger clearly has no love-lost for Poirier, who he says has no chance of beating McGregor, 32.
Covington said: “It’s not gonna be competitive. I think Conor’s just gonna spark him first round.
"Just get the Kleenex ready, cause Dustin’s gonna be crying up a storm at the press conference and getting everybody to feel bad for him.
"‘Wah-wah, feel bad for me, I didn’t accomplish my dream.’ Yeah, cause you’re a b****. You didn’t work hard enough for it.
"What is up with society these days? People think that everyone should get a participation trophy.
"Dustin needs his safe space. Go in your safe space, Dustin.”
