Declan Rice transfer news: Man Utd odds SLASHED after 'player-plus-cash' claim, Arsenal favourites ahead of Man City | The Sun

ARSENAL are still leading contenders to sign West Ham midfielder Declan Rice.

However, the competition is hotting up with both Manchester City and Manchester United seeing a huge shift in their odds over the last 48 hours.

The Red Devils were previously offered at 10/1 but have been cut to 15/2 following reports they are 'ready to rival' Arsenal with a proposal of their own.

The Telegraph claim United are considering a player-plus-cash deal that could involve Harry Maguire or Scott McTominay.

The Citizens – now offered at 5/2 from 12/1 – are also keen admirers of the England international and have been considering making a move for him in recent days.

West Ham are in no rush to sell the 22-year-old midfielder, and have the luxury of waiting to see if Pep Guardiola's side firm up their interest.

Arsenal remain in the driving seat at 1/4 but have seen both of their opening offers knocked back in recent days.

Their latest bid of £75million plus a further £15m in add-ons spread over five years was immediately rejected by the Hammers on Tuesday.

But they are expected to return with an improved third offer that's closer to West Ham's £100m valuation.

Chelsea and Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich are available at 20/1 and 33/1 respectively.

Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid are distant contenders at 50/1 with Newcastle and Tottenham completing the market at 66/1.

Another 12 months at the London Stadium is priced at 10/1, but the club's chairman David Sullivan has already said that he's "99%" sure Rice will leave the club this summer.

Sullivan told BBC Radio 5 Live: "We gave the promise last summer that if he gave us his all, we would let him leave the club. It's a fair and proper thing to do.

"West Ham is a very proper club, and we do things in a proper way. At the same time, we don't want some club having us over and a replacement is going to cost 50 to 60 million and they're not going to be as good as him."
