The Oakland Athletics (84-60) and Houston Astros (95-50) continue their series at Minute Maid Park Tuesday at 8:10 p.m. ET.
The A’s were blasted by the Astros in Monday’s opener 15-0, with Houston setting a major league record by belting six homers in the first two innings. The Astros, who scored 21 runs Sunday, also set a franchise record for runs in a two-game span (36).

Roark enters at 9-8, with a 3.86 ERA and .330 opponent on-base percentage with 141 strikeouts over 147 innings. He has made six starts since being acquired from the Washington Nationals, with the A’s going 4-2 in his six outings. He took a no-decision Aug. 16 against the Astros, allowing two earned runs, six hits and three walks with three strikeouts over six innings in a game the A’s won 3-2.
Miley is 13-4, with a 3.35 ERA and 134 strikeouts across 156 innings. He was hammered for five earned runs, five hits and a walk without retiring a batter last time out against the Mariners in a no-decision Sept. 5. Despite the ugly outing, the Astros won the game 11-9, and they’re 7-1 in his past eight starts. He took a no-decision last time he faced Oakland, allowing two earned runs, four hits and two walks in eight innings in a game Houston lost 4-3 July 23.
