Real Madrid confirm Gareth Bale is one of six players struck by Covid with Carlo Ancelotti's son also testing positive

GARETH BALE’s stop-start season continues after he tested positive for Covid.

The Real Madrid winger is one of SIX Bernabeu stars to have been struck by the virus.

He had only just recovered from a calf injury sustained when he won his 100th cap for Wales last month.

The 32-year-old has not played for Real since August and must now quarantine as he shakes off the illness.

The news follows a spate of cases at Premier League giants such as Manchester United and Tottenham.

Real revealed Bale’s senior team-mates Luka Modric and Marcelo, along with Marco Asensio, Rodrygo and Andriy Lunin are also positive cases.

And coaching assistant Davide Ancelotti – son of team boss Carlo – has also contracted the virus.

The LaLiga leaders are not due to play until Sunday night when they take on relegation-threatened Cadiz.
