90 Day Fiancé fans usually love to see the cast members active on social media. Unfortunately, it seems like Blake Abelard is hitting the wrong note with many fans after a recent Instagram post. Abelard took to Instagram to show off his haul of N95 masks, and fans of the show seemed unimpressed. Some even seemed angry with Abelard for hoarding masks during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. Here’s what went down, and what fans had to say about Blake Abelard’s Instagram post.
Blake Abelard shows off masks on Instagram
In an addition to his Instagram story that now seems to be deleted, Blake Abelard posted this photo of himself wearing an alleged N95 face mask. He captioned it, “FluidShield N95 Mask (Duck shape) is the way to go.”
During the outbreak of the coronavirus, healthcare workers are struggling to find appropriate personal protective equipment to keep themselves safe as they handle infected individuals. As a result, many 90 Day Fiancé fans were not happy to see Blake Abelard sporting masks.
The same masks, if they are effective, could have wound up in the hands of a healthcare worker who needs protection from coronavirus patients. Fan reactions were swift, and Abelard, after seemingly removing the picture, responded with an update.
He shared another photo of a face mask he owns, and wrote, “To everyone thinking I’m selling my masks…I’m NOT. These are for me, Jasmin, and my family. Don’t worry about how I got em. Just know that I’m not doing what u think I’m doing so stop assming [sic].”
’90 Day Fiancé’ fans are not happy
90 Day Fiancé fans seemed largely frustrated with Blake Abelard for hanging onto a pack of masks, especially if he’s not showing symptoms of infection.
One user pointed out that Abelard might not even have the real deal. They wrote, “Look closely at the mask. I would bet money those are fake/not N95. Not sure if I should laugh at him for showing off his knockoffs or laugh at him for getting scammed on fake masks.”
“The dumb*** is wearing it upside down. Hopefully he doesn’t have an appropriate seal on it,” pointed out another fan.
“I sent him a message encouraging him to donate them to frontline healthcare workers. I doubt he’ll see it.. but I had to do something,” wrote one Reddit user.
It turns out Abelard replied to the Redditor’s message. They claim he wrote, “Ummmmm…..my friend is a surgical tech. These masks are for me jasmin and my mom and stepdad [sic].”
The Redditor replied, “It’s just that there’s a huge shortage of personal protective equipment right now, like face masks and nitrile gloves – so much so that the doctors and nurses who are in daily contact with people who either have COVID-19 or are exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 are in greater danger. Unless you or someone you live with has tested positive, or is exhibiting symptoms (or is immunocompromised), the masks aren’t necessary. That’s why I suggested you donate any extras that you now have, since there’s a really dire need for them in hospitals at the moment. Hope you and your loved ones stay safe and healthy during this crazy time.”
Abelard replied, “I have these masks becuz we do still have to go out for our essential needs. Hope u and urs are safe [sic].”
Geoffrey Paschel gets slammed for hoarding

I can’t help but poke a little fun at the chaos that this potential sickness has caused. Hopefully the sickness will pass as fast as it started. I know as a kid, I would be screaming from the mountaintops with joy due to all the school closings. But, then again, all the “fun stuff” is closed too…and so appears the double-edged sword I bring up often. However, this is the chance to get the young ones out in the fresh air so they can begin to have an appreciation for what has always been in front of them, but often times, so far away. . You’re not going to catch this bug from admiring nature or touching a random tree. I like my woods and I like my nature. It is ever evolving and changing, yet it is completely ageless. The monotony of life just fades away and a unique understanding is is gained that the everyday issues are meaningless…completely meaningless. . So, I hope you stocked up on toilet paper, your Lysol, and whatnot and are able to put a positive spin on this craze. Get out and enjoy life! There is no better time than now. Why put off tomorrow what we can do today? Enjoy your corona and stay away from the virus. How are you going to spend this time off? . . . . . #90dayfiance #beforethe90days #90dayfiancebeforethe90days #mountains #home #beard #knoxvilletennessee #knoxville #knoxvilletn #coronavirus #corona #nature #outside #countryboy #fun #parody #dosequis
Meanwhile, Geoffrey Paschel faced similar judgment from 90 Day Fiancé fans after he shared this photo of himself on Instagram.
In the photo, Paschel is seated on a makeshift throne made out of toilet paper, paper towels, hand wipes, and beer while smoking a cigar. Some fans were angry with Paschel for behaving similarly to those who flocked to grocery stores and hoarded all the paper products when the coronavirus outbreak became more widespread.
One Instagram user commented, “I still have to work. Single mom. No support. No toilet paper and you sit on it making jokes. Unreal.”
Another wrote, “Posting a pic of yourself seated in the middle of an excess amount of toilet paper and paper towels was particularly obnoxious! Perhaps you don’t care that people who unable to afford such panic buying, were left without basic cleaning supplies, water & paper goods. Glad your doing good though.”
