James Argent has confirmed he has definitely split from Gemma Collins.
The TOWIE star admitted he still loves Gemma but is taking time out of the relationship to focus on himself.
The couple have been dating on and off for the last two years and split in early 2019 after he claimed she had "more rolls than Greggs".
In today's This Morning, Arg was told by Doctor Ranj that he needs to lose a staggering 10 stone.
The reality TV star was then asked whether his rocky relationship with the GC was to blame for his weight gain.
Arg said: "I would never say that me and my relationship with Gemma has an effect on my weight gain. That wouldn’t be fair on Gemma.
"At the moment I need to take a bit of time out from the relationship and focus on myself. Get myself back to where I want to be then who knows.
"I adore Gemma and love her dearly. At the moment though Gemma is very busy, we both are.
"We both need to focus on ourselves. I love her to bits."
Arg promised to make a dramatic lifestyle change after piling on the pounds over the last few months.
While he usually laughs off negative comments about his weight, Arg confessed that vile online trolls were hurtful.
He also admitted even his friends "aren't laughing anymore" and realises he needs to take action.
Arg said: "I knew my weight visibly when I looked in the mirror and clothes, especially the last few months, I put on a substantial amount of weight and was conscious taking photos.
"I’m very fortunate, I never really get much hate on social media. I'm quite liked. I’ve noticed the trolling has got more and more the bigger I’ve got.
"I do tend to laugh things off. I am thick skinned. I’m used to being bantered but it can still hurt.
The 31-year-old thinks his drink and drug problems have all stemmed from his "eating disorder".
Dr Ranj said he needs to lose 10 stone and 17 inches off his weight as he is currently at risk of heart disease and type 2 diabetes.
Reacting to the diagnosis, Arg said: "I’ve done it before so I can do it again. Before it’s all or nothing. I’m starving myself and its drastic and quick. It's not the way to go about it. What I’ve taken from the doctor is it's a long term goal.
"It's quite scary. 10 stone is a hell of a lot of weight and it’s a marathon. It seems like it’s not going to be a quick fix."
