Actress Anna Acton played policewoman Emma Summerhayes on EastEnders back from 2014 to 2015.

The character was tasked with finding the killer of the murdered character Lucy Beale – but unfortunately found herself getting killed off too.

Fast forward eight years, and she has now bagged a role in Casualty playing pregnant Piper woman who was found unconscious and bloodied after a break-in.

Eagle-eyed fans took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their discovery of the familiar face.

One person said:”That's DCI Summerhayes EastEnders fans,” while someone else replied: “I was trying to work out where I’ve seen her before so thank you.”

A third chimed in and quipped: “Omg it's Emma SummerHayes from Eastenders.”

Echoing their thoughts, another viewer on X pointed out: “Anna Acton on Casualty she’s been in Eastenders her real life husband was recently in Corrie.”

During her time on BBC's smash hit soap EastEnders, Anna played copper Emma and managed to solve the Lucy Beale murder mystery storyline.

But before the character could tell anyone, even the police, she was killed off from the soap at the start of 2015.

Emma was hit by Roxy Mitchell's car during an explosive New Year's Day episode – with Ronnie also being left in critical condition following the accident.

The police woman, who was loved up with Max Branning, was rushed to hospital by her lover after he found her stumbling around in the famous square.

However, she was later pronounced dead at the hospital, with doctors claiming it was down to bleeding on her brain after the car crash.
