BBC Strictlys Ellie Leach shares fears over Vito Coppola routine

Ellie says she was scared to hurt Vito during Argentine Tango

Ellie Leach has admitted that she was worried about hurting partner Vito Coppola during their performance on Strictly Come Dancing on Saturday night. The pair performed an Argentine tango and Ellie, 22, was required to step on Vito’s thighs in heels as they showed off an elaborate move.

While appearing on Wednesday’s episode of It Takes Two, the former Coronation Street star opened up about her fears over hurting her partner.

Host Janette Manrara asked Vito, 31: “Firstly, does that not hurt Vito, Ellie stepping on your thighs with stilettos on?”

The professional responded: “Yeah, actually my calf was screaming, there are a few bruises here.” Ellie was then asked: “Secondly, you had to maintain so much control to do that, how did you do that?”

She explained: “I was actually really scared to do that and throughout the week, we’d get to that bit and I’d be like, ‘I don’t want to do it’. “I’d kind of like freeze, because I felt like I was hurting you,” she said to Vito as he added: “I just told her to go for it, don’t worry.”

The duo performed a steamy Argentine tango to Destiny’s Child’s Bills, Bills, Bills, and set temperatures soaring with their sexy routine.

At the end of the action-packed dance, Ellie and Vito shared a lingering look and pressed their heads so closely together that some viewers were convinced that they locked lips.

One person wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter: “Ellie and Vito made me blush, They damn near kissed! #Strictly.” Another fan said: “Ellie and Vito totally nearly kissed on national TV.”
