Bond stars Lashana Lynch and Ana De Armas have opened up about their excitement to work with Phoebe Waller Bridge.
Honestly, who can blame them?
The pair, who are set to star in the highly-anticipated No Time To Die, were enthusiastic to say the least, after the Fleabag creator and star was brought in to liven up the script.
‘I very literally squealed when I first heard her name,’ Lashana admitted. ‘I thought, “Oh my gosh, British girl just like me. She’s going to know how to actually take care of women onscreen.”‘
Ana, who’s set to play the Bond girl of the movie, also admitted to The Hollywood Reporter that she didn’t play it much cooler.
‘I saw Phoebe, and I just blushed — I got red like a tomato,’ she said. ‘I was like, “Oh my God, can I hug you? I want to be your friend.”‘
Meanwhile, the pair opened up on the ‘evolution’ of the franchise – most notably shown by 007 being played by a woman for the first time.
‘Everyone was really responsive to having her be what I wanted,’ Lashana explained. ‘You’re given a fresh perspective on a brand-new black woman in the Bond world.’
We’re so ready.
The pair are set to star alongside Daniel Craig, who will be reprising his role as the spy one last time, and Rami Malek, whose villainous character has been branded a ‘nasty piece of work’.
And it seems everyone is being kept in the dark about the plot of the movie after Daniel filmed three different endings.
Director Cary Joji Fukunaga is reportedly taking no chances, filming two alternative endings alongside the real one.
An insider told The Mirror: ‘Everyone’s in the dark, the secrecy is off the chart.’
And, while fans still have a fair while to wait until the April 2020 release, filming has officially wrapped on the movie.
Daniel revealed the news himself with director Cary Fukunaga in a photo shared on the film’s official Twitter account.
Posing together on set, the caption read: ‘That’s a wrap on #NoTimeToDie. See you in cinemas April 2020.’
We’ll be waiting.
No Time To Die will hit cinemas on 3 April 2020.
