Bradley Walsh tells The Chase player she got a bit jammy as she makes final

The Chase turned tense as contestant Helen managed to slip through to the final despite getting off to bad footing.

During the cash-builder she stumbled and pondered over many answers but successfully answered three questions.

Host Bradley Walsh, 61, told Helen: "I think you could have done a bit better than that.

"Anyway, who would like to face?"

Helen explained that she wanted to go up against "Shaun Wallace" better known at The Destroyer on the quiz show programme.

Fortunately for Helen, it was Shaun who waltz down to the chase platform to take her on.

The first question – What is the meaning of 'kidology' left the player scratching her head

She was given three possible answers goat Keeping, baby Sitting or deceiving people – with the correct answer being the later.

However Helen opted for "goat keeping" leaving Bradley and everyone at home completely speechless.

Fans on Twitter wrote: "Is she for real?!!#thechase #itvchase"

Another said: "I'm sorry, but goat keeping! #TheChase."

A third joked: "Seen it all now "kidology"… looking after goats #thechase."

Another remarked: "#TheChase …and they have!! After the kidology answer, I rest my case."

Meanwhile, in spite of such a grim start Helen surprised everyone as she then aced all other questions, sailing through to the final round.

Host Bradley seemed shocked that she'd beaten The Destroyer, adding: "I got to be honest with you Helen, I thought we got a bit jammy there to be honest."

Fans on social media agreed with Bradley as they took to their keyboards.

"How on earth has Helen got through? #TheChase," penned one fan.

"Helen getting through….You can’t make it up #thechase," chimed another surprised viewer.

The Chase airs weekdays on ITV at 5pm.
