Bridgerton set has own private fuel supply – while rest of country scrambles for petrol

WHILE the rest of the country is scrambling around for fuel, Netflix bosses have their own source to keep their big hit, Bridgerton, in production.

They have access to at least four ‘bowsers’ – mini tanker trailers brought directly from fuel companies that cast and crew can use.

The bowsers will also keep generators and trucks running on set.

Producers are particularly keen for their staff to avoid car sharing in a bid to keep Covid at bay, and have been undertaking the measure since production started in April.

Bridgerton has already had to shut down repeatedly because of outbreaks of the virus among the show’s cast and crew.

A Netflix source said: “The last thing anyone wants is any further delays, which has been challenging with the backdrop of Covid.

“They have managed to fill up at least four mini tankers, known as bowsers, which are being made available to staff.

The fuel is there for the generators, trucks, location transport and has been since the very start of production back in April.

The bosses buy it directly from the fuel companies so it shouldn’t be affecting the public in anyway.

“They are trying to avoid several members of the crew or cast having to share taxis, buses or cars as Covid is likely to quickly spread if they spend too much time in close proximity.”

BRITAIN’S Got Talent will return next year with a live audience watching auditions in theatres, I can reveal.

The old judging panel – including Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams – is also being reassembled.

A TV insider said: “Though ITV have always said BGT would be back in 2022, a question mark has lingered over whether it would come back in its original form.

“Those fears were fuelled by other big shows still having to make radical changes due to Covid restrictions.

“Even I’m A Celebrity is having to stay in North Wales for a second year because of the virus’s impact – and that’s a situation which nobody could have predicted.”

I understand Simon and his team are determined to bring BGT back in all its glory, while ensuring it remains within the safety rules and guidelines.

AS a bona fide rock ’n’ roll star, you’d imagine everyone knows what Noel Gallagher looks like.

But recently the Oasis star bumped into David Mitchell in the street and after saying hello, realised David hadn’t a clue who he was.

He said on Rob Bryson’s latest YouTube Interview: “I’m a big fan of Would I Lie To You. I think it’s the best thing on television.

“I ran into David a while ago. He was at a set of traffic lights near Madame Tussaud’s. I was telling him I watched it and he was like, ‘Oh, thank you very much’.

"I’m not sure he recognised me. I walked away thinking, ‘I wonder who he thought I was’.’’

Could have been worse – David could have thought it was his brother, Liam.

A DEVASTATING string of disasters is set to bring death and destruction to Coronation Street this month.

Bosses of the ITV soap promise it will include a catastrophic rainstorm, a collapsed sinkhole, a fireball car crash, an escaped convict and revenge plans that go horribly wrong.

And for added fright factor the event will strike just as residents of Weatherfield are preparing for Halloween at the end of the month.

ALEXANDRA Burke looked to be somewhere between agony and ecstasy as she was named as one of three recruits to pass the gruelling course on Celebrity SAS Who Dares Wins.

She was left stunned on the Channel 4 show when, along with Wes Nelson and Aled Davies, she was told the news by leader Ant Middleton.

The unusual move of having three winners was explained by instructor Mark Billingham, who said: “We’re not looking for one person.

“The common denominator is honesty, integrity, perseverance or excellence.”

SHE’S This Morning’s resident adrenaline junkie, but bubbly Josie Gibson is braced for her most nerve-racking challenges yet.

So far Josie’s travelled the UK and tried a theme park roller coaster, high-rise ziplines and got close to dangerous animals. She also climbed five mountains in five days.

But from October 12 she’ll be fronting a new, four-part This Morning series called Josie’s Extreme Adventures which sees her pushed to her limits with a skydive, canyoneering and white-water rapids rafting.

But she insists: “I would do anything to do Josie’s Ultimate Spa Days or Josie’s Travels and Having a Nice Time.”
