Coronation Street’s Lucy Fallon begs bosses to not kill off Bethany Platt

Coronation Street babe Lucy Fallon has pleaded with writers to not kill off her character Bethany Platt.

The blonde beauty announced she was quitting the soap earlier this year after four years in the soap.

In her statement, the actress said: “After the most incredible four years, I have made the extremely difficult decision to leave Coronation Street at the end of my contract in 2020.

“It’s hard to put into words how much this show means to me. I’ve made lifelong friends with some of the most talented and hardworking people in the industry, I’ve had some terrific and immensely important storylines and I’ve laughed with the best people every day.

"I’m so thankful to Iain and everyone at Coronation Street, I owe everything to them and I will miss them greatly.”

Lucy has revealed that she has no idea how the teenager will leave Weatherfield but hopes it isn’t in a body bag.

The 23-year-old actress has confessed she would like the door to be kept open for a return in the future.

She told the Sunday Star: ““I don’t know if Bethany will be killed off yet.

“I haven’t been told what the storylines ahead of my exit will be, so I could be absolutely dead.

“Obviously I’d be sad if that happened. It would mean closing that door.

“Because it was my decision to leave, if my character gets killed off I won’t be annoyed – I’m going to be dead nice to the writers from now on.”

Since she confirmed her departure from the soap, it has been rumoured that Lucy could be set to enter the I’m a Celebrity jungle, but she’s remained tight lipped over her future projects.

“I don’t know what I want to do next. I’m keeping my options open,” she added.

“I’ll see what happens. I’ll maybe have a bit of a holiday after I finish at Corrie.

“There are loads of things i’d like to do.
