Dr Drew Pinsky praises Britney Spears' dad Jamie for doing an 'amazing job & saving her life' amid conservatorship war

DR Drew Pinsky praised Britney Spears’ dad Jamie for “doing an amazing job” and “saving her life” amid their conservatorship war.

The television doctor appeared on Candace Owens’ podcast to defend Jamie Spears as the pop star and her fans around the world insist he needs to be “charged” for his “abusive” behavior.

Drew, 62, discussed the controversial topic on the conservative host’s podcast which aired on Tuesday.

The TV personality initially called the conservatorship Britney was forced into “tough” but then proceeded to support Jamie’s decision to place her in it.

“It’s rare that a family member steps up, takes up a conservatorship. That saves somebody's life,” Drew told Candace.

He continued: “That psychiatrist and that father did an amazing job. And the judge that issued it.

“Now that was then. She does well for 10 years. She's entitled to try some time outside the conservatorship.

“You have a right to destroy your life if that’s what you want to do. … The fact that they’re not going to that is a hint that things aren’t good for her psychiatrically.”

Drew concluded on a final thought: “There’s something wrong right now because if things were going well she should be able to get out of her conservatorship.”

Jamie first placed his daughter in a conservatorship back in 2018 when Britney was reportedly not even present when the decision was made.

As her attorney filed new papers to get Jamie officially removed from her 13-year-conservatorship earlier this month, the Toxic singer continues to SLAM her dad.

In the documents, the mom-of-two called the relationship with her father "venomous" and said "it impairs Ms. Spears's mental health, her well-being, and her ability to pursue and continue with her extraordinary career.”

She continued slamming her dad in the docs, adding: “Since receiving professional medical care at the outset of this conservatorship over thirteen years ago, Ms. Spears is clearly in a different place now, and she has been for many years.

“The entire world has witnessed Ms. Spears working tirelessly — with astonishing dedication, precision, and excellence.

"As a musical artist and performer, an exceptional earner for Mr. Spears (and others) who had a financial interest in making sure she would continue to work and perform.”

The docs – which asked for CPA Jason Rubin to be appointed onto her case for the first time – also call her dad's control on her life "traumatizing, insane and depressing.”

Along with her health, Britney has also alleged that her dad “struggled” handling her money.

In documents obtained by The Sun which were filed on Monday, Britney and her new lawyer claim that the singer’s net worth is “shockingly low” compared to what it should be.

“Ms. Spears’s net worth is shockingly low and that, although no one knows what she would have done had she been in control of her fate and fortune, it’s hard to imagine how she would have done worse than her estranged dad.

“Mr. Spears is not a professional business or financial manager. In fact, the Spears family struggled financially under his leadership and filed for bankruptcy in 1998,” the court papers state.

The docs then highlighted the massive amount of Britney’s fortune he gained in past years.

The lawyers argued that: “Although it is common for managers, agents, and other industry professionals to receive a percentage of an artists’ earnings, Mr. Spears is none of those.

“He is a conservator and, as a conservator, his role is to be burdened by, rather than benefit from, the conservatorship.”
