Eamonn Holmes takes swipe at Holly and Phil as he jokes about 'real' ITV stars but doesn't mention This Morning co-hosts

THIS Morning's Eamonn Holmes today listed the "real" presenters of ITV – but didn't mention Holly Willoughby or Phillip Schofield.

The 61-year-old star, who is bowing out as a main presenter alongside Ruth Langsford in a matter of weeks, made the remark on today's show.

It came after Eamonn interviewed some of the stars of new ITV show The Real Housewives of Jersey.

He then told Ruth: "Imagine if you had the Real TV Presenters of ITV – Piers Morgan and me and Lorraine, you, everybody.

"That would be good viewing, wouldn't it? I'd love to go on a holiday with Piers. A road trip."

However, he didn't mention any of his This Morning co-hosts among the list of ITV stars he'd like to appear alongside.

They include Monday-to-Thursday hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, and Alison Hammond, who will be replacing them on Fridays.

Ruth, 60, agreed: "You and Piers would be good on a road trip."

The pair are having to step down from their regular Friday slot on This Morning to make way for Alison, 45, and Dermot O'Leary, 47.

They are taking over in the New Year starting on January 8, while Eamonn and Ruth will occasionally appear on the daytime hit as holiday cover.
