Emmerdales Mary Goskirk left seriously shaken as villain returns to village

Emmerdale: Mary’s naked photo shared with the village

In upcoming scenes on Emmerdale, Rhona Goskirk (played by Zoe Henry) encourages her mum Mary Goskirk (Louise Jameson) to get back on the dating scene, but the latter feels hesitant after her ordeal with Faye Helders (Jane Gurnett).

Mary puts on a brave face when she prepares herself for her scammer ex Faye’s trial.

Emmerdale viewers last saw Faye when she managed to leak a nude photograph of Mary throughout the village as part of a blackmail plot.

Later, after having attended the trial, Mary claims to have a date the following day which leaves Rhona and her husband Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) impressed.

The day after, Mary starts acting cagey about her date. Was she making it up or did she actually meet someone for a drink?

Mary actress Louise teased to Digital Spy: “The storyline [writers] have hinted that something big is coming Mary’s way in the love life department.”

Could real love be on the horizon for Emmerdale’s Mary after a turbulent year in the Yorkshire Dales?

Speaking about her heartbreak with Faye, she added: “How sad is that but how clever are the writers to come up with the storyline?

“It’s an important one – elderly people being scammed.”

Her ex Faye is nothing but a con artist and threatened Mary with a nude picture earlier this summer in a bid to get her to retract her statement to the police about her fraud.

The women met on a dating app and things soon got serious between the pair to Mary’s delight at first.

However, Faye lied about volunteering at a women’s refuge in Ecuador and got Mary to send her money she claimed was for the charity.

When Mary found out the refuge was all a sham, Faye showed no remorse whatsoever.

Will Faye get put behind bars for her blackmailing crimes on the ITV soap?

Hopefully, Mary has found a lover who is a genuine person, who wants a sincere relationship with her.

Mary could be put off dating for life if her current mysterious lover interest is also dodgy.

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV and ITVX.
