General Hospital actress Kirsten Storms has given fans an update on her recovery process after undergoing brain surgery.
The former Disney star confirmed she was ready to take an important next step as she revealed her stitches would be coming out this week.
Taking to Instagram, the 37-year-old shared a selfie of herself and daughter Harper, seven.
‘Stitches out this week. 🙌🏼,’ she captioned the shot. ‘Also, I love this precious little human.’
The actress is well known for playing Maxie Jones on the American drama series, a role she’s had since 2005.
Earlier this month, she alerted fans to her ongoing health journey after revealing that she had successful surgery.
‘So I’ve not really spoken about this much or at all actually. Less than 48 hours ago I had brain surgery, hence the neck brace, it was on the lower portion of my brain,’ Kirsten said in a clip, gesturing to the green brace around her neck.
The former Zenon star also mentioned that her friend and former co-star, Emme Rylan, has stepped in to take care of her.
She added that it had been an ‘interesting couple of days’ as the surgery was to remove ‘a very large cyst that had split into two’.
‘What they had to drain and remove was not cancer — I want to clarify that right now before the internet goes crazy wild with rumours about this,’ she explained.
‘I had a very large cyst that had split into two and the doctor said it was like so full the pressure was very noticeable when they opened up my skull, sounds so weird.’
In terms of her recuperation, the actress stated that she intended to take a few weeks off before returning to work.
Prior to her role on General Hospital, Kirsten played Belle Black on Days Of Our Lives and also Zenon in the sci-fi Disney Channel movie trilogy.
The soap star shares daughter Harper Rose with ex-husband and former General Hospital co-star Brandon Barash.
