Geordie Shore to follow Celebs Go Dating's lead and bring outsiders into party pad

WITH Covid restrictions putting paid to partying in the Toon, the next series of Geordie Shore is going to look a little different.

Insiders working on the hit MTV show have revealed they are planning on taking a leaf out of Celebs Go Dating’s little black book by bringing outsiders, who have quarantined, into the infamous party pad.

A show source explained: “With the Geordie Shore ten-year reunion on hold, MTV decided to put out a normal series to fill the schedule.

"And while the usual cast are raring to go, there are concerns about how they are going to fill the time with just them.

“Because of the ongoing restrictions, they can’t go on wild nights out like they used to.

“And the idea of having them locked up in the Geordie Shore house screams ‘boring’. One idea which has been well received involves bringing outsiders into the house.”

Amelia Lily won’t be returning to the upcoming series after she was deemed “too dull”, but her wild co-stars Chloe Ferry, Nathan Henry and Abbie Holborn are all expected to be at the Geordie Shore house in Newcastle when filming begins.

The show source added: “All of the cast going in are single and it could be perfect to pair them up with some hot new friends, with the idea that romance could blossom.

“It’s a bit like the way Celebs Go Dating filmed their last series, with single stars being paired up with their matches in a luxury house.

“For Geordie Shore, it means their cast can still ‘tash on’ with some gorgeous singletons – just in the house rather than in nightclubs and bars like they normally would.

“The show’s stars would be quarantining, and so would the individuals going into the house, so filming could be totally Covid secure and safe.

"Everyone just wants to get filming underway and get a series on air for the fans.”

This sounds like it could be absolute carnage.

And I have to say, it could make for some hilarious viewing.

Alan: My shampoo secret

ALAN TITCHMARSH has revealed the secret to his youthful looks – shampoo.

The TV presenter and gardener says the reason he scrubs up so well at 71 is because he relies entirely on the hair-cleaning product to wash everything from head to toe.

Alan said: “I’m quite wrinkly, I’ve got bags and stuff now. But actually, to be honest, my make-up artist says I’ve got very good skin.

“I shampoo my hair and then, what’s the point of washing your hair in the shampoo and getting another shower gel and doing all of that?

“So I just do it all with shampoo, and that’s my only secret. I could put every skincare product out of business.

“I should say: ‘Oh I always use Nivea’, shouldn’t I? Then I’d get free stuff, but I never use it.”

Alan – who was speaking ahead of the start of his new ITV series, Spring into Summer, which starts on April 5 at 8pm – added: “My skin should be much worse than it is, but that’s all I do.

“A bit of the great outdoors and fresh air helps as well.”

Which is easier said than done when you’re stuck in the city during lockdown.

Alas no Vegas for Neil

WHEN filming for the new series of The Syndicate had to be cancelled in Las Vegas, few cast members could have been more gutted than leading man Neil Morrissey.

But despite Covid casting a cloud over the proceedings, there was a silver lining for the lottery-themed drama, which returns for a fourth series tonight on BBC1.

Neil said: “I was literally geared up to start filming and then we got the phone call saying, ‘Hey, stay at home for a week’. That turned into three or four months.

“It was meant to be in Vegas, but, of course, travel outside Europe was very difficult so they changed it to Monaco. But it was absolutely fantastic.

“Filming with Covid restrictions was very weird and very difficult – as it still is – but we got through it and it was a jolly romp.

“It’s a weird place, I have got to say. But it is very beautiful and we were in a lovely hotel in the Cote D’Azur, which always makes the job easier.”

I bet it does. Monaco sounds better than Vegas if you ask me.
